Karma-HCG®

Description

Karma-HCG® is a hormonal substance obtained from the urine of pregnant women. Its action is predominantly luteinizing.

Karma-HCG® is available in a package of 3 sterile lyophilized powders for injection plus 3 sterile solvent ampules of Sodium Chloride 0.9%.

Karma-HCG® is manufactured by BSV Co. (Bioscience Gmbh) and is developed by Homa Pharmed Co. under the license of Karma pharmatech, Germany.

Labeled Indications

• Anovulatory infertility:

In the female, karma-HCG® Inj. is used in the treatment of anovulatory infertility Where its administration would form part of recognized treatment regimen involving the prior stimulation of follicular maturation and endometrial proliferation e.q. with Menotropin Injection (karma-HMG®). Sterility due to the absence of follicle ripening or ovulation.

• Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism and cryptorchidism:

In men, karma-HCG® Inj. stimulates the interstitial cells of the testes and consequently the secretion of androgens and the development of secondary sexual characteristics. With concomitant Menotropin Inj. therapy, karma-HCG® Inj. stimulates the induction and maintenance of spermatogenesis.

• Delayed puberty with insufficient gonadotropin pituitary function.

Administration

karma-HCG® should be administered by intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. The powder for injection should be reconstituted with the Sodium Chloride Injection immediately before use. Discard any unused portion.

Contraindications and warnings

Woman:

Stimulation of ovulation with Karma-HCG® may lead to superovulation and hyperstimulation syndrome. estrogen assays will detect the excessive response, so Karma-HCG®. Inj. may be withheld in that particular treatment cycle.

Men:

A high dosage of Karma-HCG® injection May lead to edema and in such cases, the dosage should be considerably reduced. In signs of sexual precocity, a reduced dosage regimen should be instituted.

Storage

Karma-HCG® should be stored between °2C–°8C. Do not freeze. Protect from light.

Reconstituted solution should be used immediately after preparation, any unused portion should be discarded.
